In May last year Sothebys in London held the auction The Surya Collection: Property from Mrs. Ute Rettberg, which included the work Gravure sur bois - III by Satish Panchal. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 504.00 (€ 592.91), 68% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Satish Panchal have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in May 2008 with an auction result of GBP 3,125.00 (€ 3,975.14).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 68 % übertroffen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in London die Auktion The Surya Collection: Property from Mrs. Ute Rettberg durch, in der auch die Arbeit Gravure sur bois - III von Satish Panchal zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 504,00 (€ 592,91) und damit 68% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Satish Panchal auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.125,00 (€ 3.975,14).
