Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Two illustrations: i) "Larry France His Book" ii) Dog stealing doll from child, by Tony Sarg was sold in the Original Illustration Art from the Collections of Kendra and Allan Daniel auction at Sothebys in New York in April 2011. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 600.00 – 800.00, the actual price achieved of USD 625.00 (€ 421.70) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Tony Sarg have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Set of illustrations for The Cock, The Mouse and The Little Red Hen in April 2011 with an auction result of USD 6,250.00 (€ 4,216.99).

Die Arbeit Two illustrations: i) "Larry France His Book" ii) Dog stealing doll from child, von Tony Sarg wurde im April 2011 in der Auktion Original Illustration Art from the Collections of Kendra and Allan Daniel bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 625,00 (€ 421,70) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Tony Sarg auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Set of illustrations for The Cock, The Mouse and The Little Red Hen im April 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 6.250,00 (€ 4.216,99).
