In September 2014 a collector was able to acquire the work Nine sketches in Scotland: Old Town, Edinburgh; John Knox's house, Edinburgh; Holyrood; Hawthornden; Ben Nevis, Loch Linnhe; Ben Nevis, Loch Eil; Trosachs sic; Ben Arthur, Tarbet, Loch Lomond; and Roslin Chapel (three illustrated) by Sarah Sherwood Clarke for GBP 562.50 (€ 722.50). This price was achieved in the auction The Neil Wilson Collection: A Romantic Vision at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of Other works by Sarah Sherwood Clarke have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in September 2014 by the work Ten sketches in Scotland: Glencoe; Dunolly Castle (2); Glen Nevis (2); Ben Nevis; Loch Lomond; Roslin Castle; and two others (three illustrated) at GBP 687.50 (€ 883.06).
