Sold at the lower estimate price
In November 2011 Christies in London held the auction Maritime Art, which included the work Fishermen on the rocks before a castle (illustrated); and Figures on the beach at low tide by Sarah Louisa Kilpack. The result of GBP 400.00 (€ 466.96) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sarah Louisa Kilpack achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Rough weather. The Grande Rocque, Cobo Bay, Guernsey in March 2007 with an auction result of GBP 5,040.00 (€ 7,418.30).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im November 2011 führte Christies in London die Auktion Maritime Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Fishermen on the rocks before a castle (illustrated); and Figures on the beach at low tide von Sarah Louisa Kilpack zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 400,00 (€ 466,96) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 400,00 – 600,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sarah Louisa Kilpack erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Rough weather. The Grande Rocque, Cobo Bay, Guernsey im März 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.040,00 (€ 7.418,30).
