A top price for Sara Shamma - as previously expected
In October 2019 Christies in London held the auction Middle Eastern, Modern and Contemporary Art, which included the work Self Portrait by Sara Shamma. The price achieved of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 17,398.92) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Self Portrait is the most expensive artwork by Sara Shamma that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Im Oktober 2019 führte Christies in London die Auktion Middle Eastern, Modern and Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Self Portrait von Sara Shamma zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 15.000,00 (€ 17.398,92) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Self Portrait das teuerste Kunstwerk von Sara Shamma, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
