Auction result well in line with expectations
The work NO GLOBAL TOUR by Santiago Sierra was sold in the New Now auction at Phillips in London in April 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,118.08) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Santiago Sierra - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 3000 Huecos (3000 Hollows), which sold at auction in December 2016 for GBP 23,125.00 (€ 27,036.88).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit NO GLOBAL TOUR von Santiago Sierra wurde im April 2018 in der Auktion New Now bei Phillips in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 6.250,00 (€ 7.118,08) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Santiago Sierra mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit 3000 Huecos (3000 Hollows) beobachtet, die im Dezember 2016 für GBP 23.125,00 (€ 27.036,88) versteigert wurde.
