In June 2019 Phillips in London held the auction Edition Schellmann: Fifty Are Better Than One, which included the work Aviso Público (Public Notice), from Door Cycle by Santiago Sierra. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,431.11), 25% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Santiago Sierra - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 3000 Huecos (3000 Hollows), which sold at auction in December 2016 for GBP 23,125.00 (€ 27,036.88).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im Juni 2019 führte Phillips in London die Auktion Edition Schellmann: Fifty Are Better Than One durch, in der auch die Arbeit Aviso Público (Public Notice), from Door Cycle von Santiago Sierra zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 7.500,00 (€ 8.431,11) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Santiago Sierra mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit 3000 Huecos (3000 Hollows) beobachtet, die im Dezember 2016 für GBP 23.125,00 (€ 27.036,88) versteigert wurde.
