Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Boy with Watermelon by Sam Fullbrook was sold in the AUSTRALIAN & INTERNATIONAL PAINTINGS auction at Christies in Melbourne in August 2002. The price achieved of AUD 11,750.00 (€ 6,584.36) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sam Fullbrook - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Australian Nocturne With Aeroplane And Fishes, which sold at auction in August 2007 for AUD 38,400.00 (€ 22,962.30).
