Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Bird Sleeping by Sam Fullbrook was sold in the AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS auction at Christies in Melbourne in May 2003. The price achieved of AUD 9,400.00 (€ 5,203.31) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Sam Fullbrook have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Australian Nocturne With Aeroplane And Fishes in August 2007 with an auction result of AUD 38,400.00 (€ 22,962.30).
