Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Figures by the coast at Durdle Door, Dorset by Samuel Prout was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,125.00 (€ 1,360.21) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Samuel Prout have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Arch of St Mark'S, Venice, With Figures In Oriental Costume In The Foreground; And The Arch of Constantine, Rome in June 2007 with an auction result of GBP 7,200.00 (€ 10,684.44).

Die Arbeit Figures by the coast at Durdle Door, Dorset von Samuel Prout kam im November 2008 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.125,00 (€ 1.360,21) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
