In November this year Bonhams in London held the auction British and European Art, which included the work Walkers in Wengen by Samuel John Lamorna Birch. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 3,840.00 (€ 4,449.72), 28% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Samuel John Lamorna Birch achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Where'er you walk in June 2002 with an auction result of GBP 71,700.00 (€ 110,903.66).

Im November diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion British and European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Walkers in Wengen von Samuel John Lamorna Birch zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 3.840,00 (€ 4.449,72) und damit 28% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Samuel John Lamorna Birch erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Where'er you walk im Juni 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 71.700,00 (€ 110.903,66).
