Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Samuel John Lamorna Birch achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in November last year. In the British and European Art auction, the work Lamorna valley in summer sold for GBP 12,112.50 (€ 14,035.62) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Samuel John Lamorna Birch have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Where'er you walk in June 2002 with an auction result of GBP 71,700.00 (€ 110,903.66).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Samuel John Lamorna Birch erzielte im November letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion British and European Art wurde die Arbeit Lamorna valley in summer für GBP 12.112,50 (€ 14.035,62) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 6.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Samuel John Lamorna Birch auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Where'er you walk im Juni 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 71.700,00 (€ 110.903,66).
