Auction result well in line with expectations
In November last year Bonhams in London held the auction British and European Art, which included the work A view up river with fishermen on a stone bridge by Samuel John Lamorna Birch. The price achieved of GBP 3,570.00 (€ 4,136.81) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Samuel John Lamorna Birch achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Where'er you walk in June 2002 with an auction result of GBP 71,700.00 (€ 110,903.66).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion British and European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A view up river with fishermen on a stone bridge von Samuel John Lamorna Birch zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 3.570,00 (€ 4.136,81) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Samuel John Lamorna Birch erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Where'er you walk im Juni 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 71.700,00 (€ 110.903,66).
