Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Hive, Morning, St Ives by Samuel John Lamorna Birch was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2021. The price achieved of GBP 25,200.00 (€ 30,058.31) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Samuel John Lamorna Birch - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Where'er you walk, which sold at auction in June 2002 for GBP 71,700.00 (€ 110,903.66).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 25.200,00 (€ 30.058,31) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Samuel John Lamorna Birch mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Where'er you walk beobachtet, die im Juni 2002 für GBP 71.700,00 (€ 110.903,66) versteigert wurde.
