Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Hive, Morning, St Ives by Samuel John Lamorna Birch was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2021. The price achieved of GBP 25,200.00 (€ 30,058.31) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Samuel John Lamorna Birch - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Where'er you walk, which sold at auction in June 2002 for GBP 71,700.00 (€ 110,903.66).
