Sold at the lower estimate price
The work Unknown by Samuel Howitt was sold in the The Sporting Sale auction at Christies in London in September 2008. The result of GBP 1,000.00 (€ 1,264.40) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Samuel Howitt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A pair of tigers in September 2000 with an auction result of GBP 11,162.50 (€ 18,678.27).
