Sold at the upper estimate price
The work Studies of lions by Samuel Howitt was sold in the Christie's Interiors auction at Christies in London in January 2008. The auction ended at the price of GBP 600.00 (€ 804.33), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Samuel Howitt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A pair of tigers in September 2000 with an auction result of GBP 11,162.50 (€ 18,678.27).
