A top price for Samuel Frederick Brocas - as previously expected
In July 2017 Christies in London held the auction Old Master & British Drawings & Watercolours, which included the work The General Post Office and Nelson's Pillar, Sackville Street, with the Dublin Lying-in Hospital beyond by Samuel Frederick Brocas. The auction ended at the price of GBP 20,000.00 (€ 22,316.93), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, The General Post Office and Nelson's Pillar, Sackville Street, with the Dublin Lying-in Hospital beyond is the most expensive artwork by Samuel Frederick Brocas that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Im Juli 2017 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master & British Drawings & Watercolours durch, in der auch die Arbeit The General Post Office and Nelson's Pillar, Sackville Street, with the Dublin Lying-in Hospital beyond von Samuel Frederick Brocas zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 20.000,00 (€ 22.316,93) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist The General Post Office and Nelson's Pillar, Sackville Street, with the Dublin Lying-in Hospital beyond das teuerste Kunstwerk von Samuel Frederick Brocas, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
