Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2008 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work The River Dort by Samuel Austin. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 625.00 (€ 790.02) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Samuel Austin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work St John's Market, Liverpool in November 2001 with an auction result of GBP 15,275.00 (€ 24,307.34).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit The River Dort von Samuel Austin zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 625,00 (€ 790,02) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Samuel Austin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit St John's Market, Liverpool im November 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 15.275,00 (€ 24.307,34).
