Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work King George IV (1762-1830) when Prince Regent 1811-1820, in Windsor coat, white cravat, wearing the breast-star and sash of the Order of the Garter by Sampson Towgood Roch was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2003. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 800.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 896.25 (€ 1,269.42). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sampson Towgood Roch achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An Officer, Possibly Henry Pottinger, In Scarlet Uniform Of The 38Th Regiment Of Foot With Silver Epaulettes, White Frilled Shirt And Cravat, Powdered Hair; Sky Background in November 2013 with an auction result of GBP 11,250.00 (€ 13,537.87).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit King George IV (1762-1830) when Prince Regent 1811-1820, in Windsor coat, white cravat, wearing the breast-star and sash of the Order of the Garter von Sampson Towgood Roch kam im Dezember 2003 bei Christies in London zur Auktion.
