Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Lost Springtime by Sam Hyde Harris was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in December 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 765.00 (€ 675.91). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sam Hyde Harris achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La Quinta Wash in August last year with an auction result of USD 20,400.00 (€ 20,268.26).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Lost Springtime von Sam Hyde Harris im Dezember 2021 bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 765,00 (€ 675,91) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sam Hyde Harris erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit La Quinta Wash im August letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 20.400,00 (€ 20.268,26).
