This artwork by Sam Hyde Harris achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Los Angeles in August last year. In the California Art auction, the work Invictus (Monterey Cypress) sold for USD 5,355.00 (€ 5,320.42) - well above the upper estimate of USD 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sam Hyde Harris - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work La Quinta Wash, which sold at auction in August last year for USD 20,400.00 (€ 20,268.26).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 79 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Sam Hyde Harris erzielte im August letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion California Art wurde die Arbeit Invictus (Monterey Cypress) für USD 5.355,00 (€ 5.320,42) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 3.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Sam Hyde Harris mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit La Quinta Wash beobachtet, die im August letzten Jahres für USD 20.400,00 (€ 20.268,26) versteigert wurde.
