In November 2002 Christies in Rome held the auction ARTE DEL XIX SECOLO, which included the work L'attesa dei pescatori by Salvatore Mazza. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 4,960.00 24% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Salvatore Mazza have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Milano, 18 marzo 1848, l'inizio della Rivoluzione delle 5 giornate in May 2008 with an auction result of EUR 32,960.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2002 führte Christies in Rom die Auktion ARTE DEL XIX SECOLO durch, in der auch die Arbeit L'attesa dei pescatori von Salvatore Mazza zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 4.960,00 und damit 24% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Salvatore Mazza auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Milano, 18 marzo 1848, l'inizio della Rivoluzione delle 5 giornate im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 32.960,00.
