Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

Here, the upper estimate of GBP 15,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 15,535.00 (€ 22,359.14). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Salomon Rombouts - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A village kermesse with figures, which sold at auction in July 2019 for GBP 45,000.00 (€ 49,407.01).

Die Arbeit A winter landscape with peasants playing kolf on a frozen river von Salomon Rombouts wurde im Oktober 2004 in der Auktion OLD MASTER PICTURES bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 15.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 15.535,00 (€ 22.359,14) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Salomon Rombouts mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A village kermesse with figures beobachtet, die im Juli 2019 für GBP 45.000,00 (€ 49.407,01) versteigert wurde.
