Artwork auctioned at four times the upper estimate price
When the work Portrait Of An Officer, Circa 1825 by Salomon-Guillaume Counis was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2019, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - GBP 1,800.00 but the actual price achieved was more than four times as high at GBP 8,125.00 (€ 9,602.80). Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Salomon-Guillaume Counis; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Portrait Of Pauline Borghese, Née Bonaparte (1780-1825), Circa 1810 sold at auction in May 2020 with the realized price of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 16,651.65).
Kunstwerk zum Vierfachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Portrait Of An Officer, Circa 1825 von Salomon-Guillaume Counis im Dezember 2019 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – GBP 1.800,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit GBP 8.125,00 (€ 9.602,80) mehr als viermal so hoch. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Salomon-Guillaume Counis; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Portrait Of Pauline Borghese, Née Bonaparte (1780-1825), Circa 1810 im Mai 2020 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 15.000,00 (€ 16.651,65).
