Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2001 Christies in New York held the auction THE FALK COLLECTION II: CHINESE AND JAPANESE WORKS OF ART, which included the work Poems and papier-mâché tiger and miniature rice paddy with scarecrow by Sakai Hoitsu. The price achieved of USD 3,290.00 (€ 3,658.40) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 4,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sakai Hoitsu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Chofu Jewel River in March 2004 with an auction result of USD 113,525.00 (€ 92,356.82).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2001 führte Christies in New York die Auktion THE FALK COLLECTION II: CHINESE AND JAPANESE WORKS OF ART durch, in der auch die Arbeit Poems and papier-mâché tiger and miniature rice paddy with scarecrow von Sakai Hoitsu zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 3.290,00 (€ 3.658,40) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 3.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sakai Hoitsu erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Chofu Jewel River im März 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 113.525,00 (€ 92.356,82).
