A top price for Sadanand Bakre
When this work without title by Sadanand Bakre was auctioned at Sothebys in Mumbai in November 2018, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - INR 6,000,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at INR 18,750,000.00 (€ 236,796.79). This high result makes the work without title the most expensive artwork by Sadanand Bakre that we have observed at auctions so far.

Als die Arbeit ohne Titel von Sadanand Bakre im November 2018 bei Sothebys in Mumbai versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – INR 6.000.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit INR 18.750.000,00 (€ 236.796,79) mehr als dreimal so hoch. Dieses hohe Ergebnis macht das Werk ohne Titel zum teuersten Kunstwerk von Sadanand Bakre, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
