In October 2019 Sothebys in New York held the auction European Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work Shepherd In The Hills Of Montenegro by Rudolf Otto Ottenfeld. The »bidding war« ended at USD 10,625.00 (€ 9,524.88), 33% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Rudolf Otto Ottenfeld have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work German After The Raid in May 2008 with an auction result of GBP 58,100.00 (€ 73,905.74).

Im Oktober 2019 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion European Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Shepherd In The Hills Of Montenegro von Rudolf Otto Ottenfeld zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 10.625,00 (€ 9.524,88) und damit 33% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Rudolf Otto Ottenfeld auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit German After The Raid im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 58.100,00 (€ 73.905,74).
