Auction result well in line with expectations
In April this year Bonhams held the auction Classic & Contemporary Photographs, which included the work 'Portrait of the Empire State Building' by Roy Schatt. It changed hands for a price of USD 2,295.00 (€ 2,078.80) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 1,800.00 – 2,400.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Roy Schatt - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work James Dean, 1954, which sold at auction in June 2007 for GBP 3,600.00 (€ 5,342.22).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Classic & Contemporary Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit 'Portrait of the Empire State Building' von Roy Schatt zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 2.295,00 (€ 2.078,80) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.800,00 – 2.400,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Roy Schatt mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit James Dean, 1954 beobachtet, die im Juni 2007 für GBP 3.600,00 (€ 5.342,22) versteigert wurde.
