Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Marilyn Monroe at The Actor's Studio, NYC by Roy Schatt was sold in the The Gift of Photographs auction at Bonhams in New York in December 2021. The price achieved of USD 2,550.00 (€ 2,253.05) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Roy Schatt - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work James Dean, 1954, which sold at auction in June 2007 for GBP 3,600.00 (€ 5,342.22).

Die Arbeit Marilyn Monroe at The Actor's Studio, NYC von Roy Schatt wurde im Dezember 2021 in der Auktion The Gift of Photographs bei Bonhams in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 2.550,00 (€ 2.253,05) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Roy Schatt mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit James Dean, 1954 beobachtet, die im Juni 2007 für GBP 3.600,00 (€ 5.342,22) versteigert wurde.
