Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Barramundi Dreaming, c.1985 by Rover Thomas was auctioned at Bonhams in Sidney in August this year. The price achieved of AUD 30,750 (€ 20,977) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been given by the auction house as AUD 25,000 - 35,000. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rover Thomas achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work in November 2007 with an auction result of AUD 360,000 (€ 216,863).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Barramundi Dreaming, c.1985 von Rover Thomas kam im August diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Sidney zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 30.750 (€ 20.977) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 25.000 – 35.000 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Rover Thomas erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 360.000 (€ 216.863).
