In March 2011 Sothebys in London held the auction The Irish Sale, which included the work Cobbler'S Shop In Lancelot Place, Knightsbridge by Rose Barton. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 10,250.00 (€ 11,597.83), 28% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Rose Barton have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sunbeams in May 2002 with an auction result of GBP 29,875.00 (€ 46,784.65).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 28 % übertroffen
Im März 2011 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion The Irish Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Cobbler'S Shop In Lancelot Place, Knightsbridge von Rose Barton zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 10.250,00 (€ 11.597,83) und damit 28% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Rose Barton auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sunbeams im Mai 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 29.875,00 (€ 46.784,65).
