Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Beijing East Village No.19: 12 M² Head by Rong Rong was worth HKD 187,500.00 (€ 17,438.72) to a buyer in April 2014. This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Asian Art at Sothebys in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 60,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Rong Rong - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Rong Rong'S East Village, 1993-1998 (Set Of Forty Prints), which sold at auction in October 2010 for HKD 475,000.00 (€ 44,101.77).

Die Arbeit Beijing East Village No.19: 12 M² Head von Rong Rong war einem Käufer im April 2014 HKD 187.500,00 (€ 17.438,72) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Contemporary Asian Art bei Sothebys in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 60.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Für andere Arbeiten von Rong Rong mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Rong Rong'S East Village, 1993-1998 (Set Of Forty Prints) beobachtet, die im Oktober 2010 für HKD 475.000,00 (€ 44.101,77) versteigert wurde.
