Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work 'Davey'. The low road by Ron English was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in March 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 4,375.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ron English achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Slash 'n Friends (Album Cover) in May 2011 with an auction result of USD 92,500.00 (€ 64,343.35).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit 'Davey'. The low road von Ron English im März 2012 bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 4.375,00 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ron English erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Slash 'n Friends (Album Cover) im Mai 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 92.500,00 (€ 64.343,35).
