In March 2007 Christies in London held the auction British & Continental Watercolours & Maritime Paintings, which included the work Serenely full by Roland Batchelor. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,080.00 (€ 1,589.64), 54% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Roland Batchelor; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Wine Connoisseur sold at auction in September 2004 with the realized price of GBP 2,031.50 (€ 2,959.64).

Im März 2007 führte Christies in London die Auktion British & Continental Watercolours & Maritime Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Serenely full von Roland Batchelor zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.080,00 (€ 1.589,64) und damit 54% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Roland Batchelor; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit The Wine Connoisseur im September 2004 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 2.031,50 (€ 2.959,64).
