Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Ritratto femminile by Roberto Fontana was auctioned at Il Ponte in June last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 350.00 – 400.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 300.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Roberto Fontana achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Souvenirs from the East in April 2001 with an auction result of USD 8,225.00 (€ 9,268.65).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Ritratto femminile von Roberto Fontana im Juni letzten Jahres bei Il Ponte versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 350,00 – 400,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 300,00 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Roberto Fontana erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Souvenirs from the East im April 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 8.225,00 (€ 9.268,65).
