Auction result misses estimated price range
In December 2005 a collector was able to acquire the work Portrait of the Hon. Miss Anne Murray of Claudhall, Chryston, three-quarter length, in a wide-brimmed hat by Robert Roland McIan for GBP 120.00 (€ 174.17). This price was achieved in the auction British and Continental Watercolours and Oriental at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 200.00 – 300.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Robert Roland McIan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Gaelic Gatherings: or, The Highlanders at Home in May 2019 with an auction result of GBP 637.00 (€ 721.05).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Dezember 2005 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Portrait of the Hon. Miss Anne Murray of Claudhall, Chryston, three-quarter length, in a wide-brimmed hat von Robert Roland McIan für GBP 120,00 (€ 174,17) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion British and Continental Watercolours and Oriental bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 200,00 – 300,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Robert Roland McIan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Gaelic Gatherings: or, The Highlanders at Home im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 637,00 (€ 721,05).
