Painted in 1973.
O'Rorke graduated from the Royal College of Art in 1969, and has had several one-man exhibitions; the most recent being at the Piers Feetham Gallery in 2016. He has also widely exhibited in many mixed shows including the International Art Fair, Los Angeles, the Royal Academy, London, the London Art Fair, Islington, the International Art Fair, Salzburg, the Whitechapel Art Gallery, London and the London Group.
'Untitled was painted in 1973 when contemporary art was beginning to challenge the more traditional role of painting with the emergence of new artistic forms, such as performance and conceptual art. Untitled reflects the artistic development of the period and combines various styles in one composition; the large abstract form in the lower left of the composition represents an electric drill, the pink wave pattern above suggests early computer screens and the yellow triangular shapes in the upper

Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
This work without title by Robert O'Rorke was sold in the Modern/British Art Online auction at Christies in London in November 2017. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,750.00 (€ 1,986.51), 17% above the upper estimate. Other works by Robert O'Rorke have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of GBP 1,875.00 (€ 2,128.40) in November 2017 for the work Highway.

Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.750,00 (€ 1.986,51) und damit 17% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Andere Arbeiten von Robert O'Rorke haben noch höhere Preise erzielt - wir haben das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.875,00 (€ 2.128,40) im November 2017 für die Arbeit Highway beobachtet.
