Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Neglected Goosepimples by Robert Melee was auctioned at Christies in October 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 700.00 – 1,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 250.00 (€ 296.18). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Melee achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Not Sure in November 2009 with an auction result of USD 9,375.00 (€ 6,252.50).
