Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Robert Mapplethorpe achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Milan in December 2021. In the Contemporary Art | Milan auction, the work Lisa Lyon sold for EUR 21,420.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Mapplethorpe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Self-Portrait in October 2017 with an auction result of GBP 548,750.00 (€ 625,682.41).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Robert Mapplethorpe erzielte im Dezember 2021 bei Sothebys in Mailand einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Art | Milan wurde die Arbeit Lisa Lyon für EUR 21.420,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Robert Mapplethorpe erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Self-Portrait im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 548.750,00 (€ 625.682,41).
