In March 2004 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Watercolours, which included the work Barges before the Houses of Parliament by Robert Malcolm Lloyd. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 454.10 (€ 679.75), 51% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Robert Malcolm Lloyd - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Shipping approaching the harbour in heavy seas, which sold at auction in March 2002 for GBP 940.00 (€ 1,536.65).

Im März 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Continental Watercolours durch, in der auch die Arbeit Barges before the Houses of Parliament von Robert Malcolm Lloyd zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 454,10 (€ 679,75) und damit 51% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Robert Malcolm Lloyd mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Shipping approaching the harbour in heavy seas beobachtet, die im März 2002 für GBP 940,00 (€ 1.536,65) versteigert wurde.
