In October 2004 Christies in London held the auction The Scottish Sale at The Assembly Rooms, Edinburgh, which included the work Landscape with ruined castle by a loch by Robert Houston. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,673.00 (€ 2,407.91), 67% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Robert Houston; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Sunrise on the beach sold at auction in October 2005 with the realized price of GBP 2,160.00 (€ 3,185.35).

Im Oktober 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion The Scottish Sale at The Assembly Rooms, Edinburgh durch, in der auch die Arbeit Landscape with ruined castle by a loch von Robert Houston zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.673,00 (€ 2.407,91) und damit 67% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Robert Houston; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Sunrise on the beach im Oktober 2005 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 2.160,00 (€ 3.185,35).
