Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2001 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PAINTINGS, which included the work Shipping on the Thames at sunset; and A moonlit shipping scene on the Thames by Robert Ernest Roe. The price achieved of GBP 1,645.00 (€ 2,582.55) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Ernest Roe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Battle of Trafalgar, 21st October 1805 in May 2000 with an auction result of GBP 44,650.00 (€ 71,646.78).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2001 führte Christies in London die Auktion BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Shipping on the Thames at sunset; and A moonlit shipping scene on the Thames von Robert Ernest Roe zur Versteigerung kam.
