In March 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction Made in Britain, which included the work Frank Zappa At The Royal Garden Hotel, London, 1967 by Robert Charles Davidson. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 3,250.00 (€ 3,700.30), 63% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Robert Charles Davidson; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Southeast Wind sold at auction in April this year with the realized price of USD 4,845.00 (€ 4,388.59).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 63 % übertroffen
Im März 2018 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Made in Britain durch, in der auch die Arbeit Frank Zappa At The Royal Garden Hotel, London, 1967 von Robert Charles Davidson zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 3.250,00 (€ 3.700,30) und damit 63% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Robert Charles Davidson; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Southeast Wind im April diesen Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 4.845,00 (€ 4.388,59).
