Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Rolling Stock, For Chuck by Robert Cottingham was sold in the Prints & Photographs | Bonhams Skinner auction at Bonhams in May this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,020.00 (€ 957.39) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Cottingham achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Barrera-Rosa'S in May 2016 with an auction result of USD 346,000.00 (€ 310,731.93).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Rolling Stock, For Chuck von Robert Cottingham wurde im Mai diesen Jahres in der Auktion Prints & Photographs | Bonhams Skinner bei Bonhams versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 1.020,00 (€ 957,39) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Robert Cottingham erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Barrera-Rosa'S im Mai 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 346.000,00 (€ 310.731,93).
