The price achieved of GBP 30,000.00 (€ 33,303.30) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 24,000.00 – 35,000.00. Admittedly, works by Robert Carver have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Classical Landscape with Ruins and Figures in the Foreground in May 2007 with an auction result of GBP 216,000.00 (€ 317,858.62).
