This price was achieved in the auction BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES at Christies in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 400.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Robert Burrows; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot A milkmaid by a watermill; and Cattle watering in a river landscape sold at auction in September 2005 with the realized price of GBP 2,640.00 (€ 3,874.39).
