Auction result well in line with expectations
In February 2012 Christies in London held the auction 19th Century European Art, which included the work A busy coastal path on the Bay of Naples, Vesuvius beyond by Robert Alott. The price achieved of GBP 5,000.00 (€ 5,970.13) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Robert Alott - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A market at the Forum of Nerva, Rome, which sold at auction in March 2007 for GBP 12,000.00 (€ 17,662.63).
