This artwork by Richard Winkler achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2006. In the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art auction, the work Spring of Life sold for HKD 114,000.00 (€ 11,055.27) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 65,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Richard Winkler - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Monkeys of red paddies, which sold at auction in May 2010 for HKD 300,000.00 (€ 31,166.63).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Richard Winkler erzielte im November 2006 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art wurde die Arbeit Spring of Life für HKD 114.000,00 (€ 11.055,27) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 65.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Richard Winkler mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Monkeys of red paddies beobachtet, die im Mai 2010 für HKD 300.000,00 (€ 31.166,63) versteigert wurde.
