In September 2010 Christies in New York held the auction Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work Sunset Landscape by Richard William Hubbard. The »bidding war« ended at USD 21,250.00 (€ 15,623.85), 42% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Richard William Hubbard - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Lake George, which sold at auction in September 2004 for USD 45,410.00 (€ 36,570.83).

Im September 2010 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sunset Landscape von Richard William Hubbard zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 21.250,00 (€ 15.623,85) und damit 42% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Richard William Hubbard mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Lake George beobachtet, die im September 2004 für USD 45.410,00 (€ 36.570,83) versteigert wurde.
