Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Landscape by Richard William Hubbard was sold in the All That Is Glorious Around Us: Property from an Important American Collector auction at Sothebys in New York in January 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 6,250.00 (€ 5,634.18) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Richard William Hubbard have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Lake George in September 2004 with an auction result of USD 45,410.00 (€ 36,570.83).
